The earliest music of Venezuela was that of the native peoples, but sadly today their traditions are maintained by only a small percentage of the population located principally in the Amazonian interior.

Music program helps many

Venezuela's state-funded classical music program was founded 30 years ago. Since then 400,000 children have gone through the program. The program has helped children escape lives of gangs and crime.
