South America's largest natural lake: Maracaibo

This fascinating inland sea was for generations the home to thousands of local fisherman. First settled by the Goajiro Indians, the lake was discovered by the European explorer, Alonso de Ojeda in 1499, on a voyage with Amerigo Vespucci.

Where expats meet in Venezuela

A new venue has been arranged for local expats to meet. After more than 10 years of meeting up on a Thursday evening for the 'English style pub night' the Rincon Gang, as the expats club is known, has moved due to the closing of the Rincon del Roraima bar. The new venue is in the building right next door to the old Rincon pub, in (the front bar of) Baby Blue.
