In the second issue of the "Bond of the South", Venezuela and Argentina are going to sell $1.5billion in bonds. Venezuela's contribution will be $750 million of bolivar-denominated bonds, or TICCs, that in 2019 with a 5.25 percent coupon. Argentina's contribution will be $750 million of dollar bonds that mature in 2015 with a 7 percent coupon.Original source: Bloomberg. Hoping to one day keep the power on for good and stop relying on foreign oil, Cuba has started a wind farm. Even though Cuba produces its own oil it's not enough, so Cuba's entered an agreement with Venezuela to buy 100,000 barrels of oil a day. When two meat processing plants were found to not be running at full capacity, the Venezuelan government stepped in and temporarily expropriated them.
