The United States is now opening a trial against Posada Carilles, a naturalized Venezuelan who was accused of lying about his involvement in a series of 1997 bombings in Cuba.
Venezuela is also seeking the extradition of the former CIA operative for allegedly being the mastermind of a 1976 bombing of a Cuban carrier while living in Caracas. Posada is set to be arraigned in US Federal Court on April 17.
