Venezuela courts Chinese, signs big oil deal

Venezuela has announced that it will double its oil exports to China in attempt to break its dependence on energy exports to the United States.

Foreign oil firms in the Orinoco to cede control to Venezuela

In another step forward in President Hugo Chavez's nationalization push, all foreign owned oil firms will cede control to the Venezuelan state, Venezuela's oil company said.

London enters deal with Venezuela

London Mayor Ken Livingstone initialed a deal with Hugo Chavez whereby Caracas is selling fuel for London buses at a 20-percent discount. This deal has angered many in the United Kingdom.
