Venezuela gives credit to US for drug seizure operation

In a rare move for the Latin American nation, Venezuela gave credit to the US Coast Guard for cooperation in a large drug seizure operation. This was deemed to be an important event leading to a summit of leaders that both nations will attend.
In a statement, Justice Minister Tareck El Aissami said that the US Coast Guard discovered 2,030 pounds of cocaine off Venezuela's coast after the Latin American nation gave permission for the coast guard to board.
